Official Kodokan White and Red Belt - Japanese Silk - JGSRW

Theoretically reserved for teachers from the 6th to the 8th Dan, the red and white Judo belt is also used in traditional Jujutsu. However, we do not recommend it in the latter case, because this is the official Judo belt of the Kodokan, the global center of Judo.

Worldwide renowned for the exceptional quality of its products for almost 200 years, Japan is one of the only country in the world to produce the thinnest and finest silk . This KuSakura Judo belt, mainly offered as gift at a special occasion, is made from a high-end silk fabric, known for its strength and durability.

The cotton core and therefore its rigidity are similar to . With 16 rows of stitching, this belt features excellent resistance and provides a relatively large knot. In fact, and given its composition of genuine Japanese silk, this belt is recommended for demonstrations and official ceremonies and therefore makes a great gift for obtaining a high grade.

The white/red sections have a length of 20 cm . There are specific rules on the length of these sections, especially in Europe but not in Japan. Therefore, this model is only available in its Japanese version, with sections of 20 cm. For this reason, this belt can not be manufactured in half-sizes, that would shorten the end sections in an irregular manner.

Optionally with this belt we offer a storage or gift box from either silver cardboard or a wood called Kiri. The Kiri is a traditional light-weight wood, often used in ancient times for the conservation of precious objects because of its characteristics to absorb humidity and resist fire.

Judo Belt Sizing Advice

The size table and recommendation is available by clicking on the " How to Choose your Judo belt" above the description, or on the dedicated page.

The waist size indicated is a standard recommendation. Please adjust the length to your liking, shorter or longer than the classic IJF standards.

The recommendation is made with a standard 'Judo' knot, not a double knot. If you do not do a simple knot, please consider a half-size longer to allow more room for the knot. Same advice for thick belts (which isn't the case of this IJF belt).

Please be careful with embroidery length as it might get caught in the knot. Allow 3 cm / letter in Japanese, which means a standard name sur as "Christopher" translated in Japanese as "クリストファー" would be about 20 cm long. We recommend avoiding long embroidery, or first familly name if you have long names.
